Sports Turf Course

The Ohio State University will host the 14th Annual Ohio State Sports Turf Short Course Feb. 24-25.

Top five reasons to attend:

Learn something new: Whether it's to do with saving money or trying a new technique, learning new ideas is important for self-development and job satisfaction.

Plan for 2011: Learn which weeds, insect pests, turf diseases and possible problems are most likely to occur in 2011 and discover cost-effective ways to prevent and control them.

Stay professional: Keep on top of pesticide regulations and legislation affecting turfgrass managers, find out about continuing education programs from the OPRA and STMA, and earn recertification credits, including the ODA Pesticide Recertification Credit. Testing will also be offered for the ODA Pesticide Applicators License.

Meet people: Network with other turfgrass professionals.

Get inspired and recharge your batteries: Taking a couple of days out from the regular workplace can help you rediscover your passion for your job and give you some time to think about the year ahead and make plans.

The course will be held at the Nationwide & Ohio Farm Bureau 4-H Center, 2201 Fred Taylor Drive, Columbus.
