Well-stocked dog parks key to satisfying visitors

2020 was a difficult year for all, but one shining grace was people finding their love and appreciation for parks and animals. With a giant leap in fosters and adoptions, thousands of lucky pets found their forever home last year.

According to Adopt-a-Pet.com, “animal organizations nationwide were able to find homes for 891,482 pets in 2020. And as an added bonus, even more pet lovers than usual have opened their homes to foster a whopping 54,552 pets in the past year, a 17-percent increase over last year.”

With pet ownership at an all-time high and the need to escape to nature turning into a must, dog-friendly parks are more important than ever. Evolving into a vital part of any community, these spaces have become an indispensable resource for dogs and their humans alike. Dog parks give our canine friends a place where they can interact with other dogs, sniff new things, and do all the running, jumping, and barking that's discouraged when they're at home. For humans, they encourage interaction with other dog owners, which in turn, promotes a friendly neighborhood culture.

Those who use dog parks regularly count on them to be clean, safe places to bring their pups. This includes proper signage, facilities, and most important—well-stocked pet waste stations. Not only do stations provide bags to pick up after pets, but also trash cans to dispose of those bags, which is just as important in keeping parks clean and trash-free.
