ASBA Announces New Officers and Directors

Forest Hill, MD—The American Sports Builders Association (ASBA), the national organization for builders, designers, and suppliers of materials for athletic facilities, has announced its officers and directors for the coming membership year. The new slate took its place at the conclusion of the ASBA’s Technical Meeting, held virtually this year.

Paul Nagle, CTB, of Nagle Athletic Surfaces, Inc., in Syracuse, New York, was re-elected to the position of Track Division President. Randy Resley of Sport Court of the Rockies, LLC, Highlands Ranch, Colorado, was re-elected to the position of Courts and Recreation Division President.

Elected to the position of the President of the Design Professionals Division was Craig Honkomp, PE, PS, LEED AP. Honkomp, of Sportworks Field Design in West Chester, Ohio, who previously represented the Professional Division as a Board of Directors member.

Megan Buczynski, PE, LEED AP, of Activitas, Inc., in Dedham, Massachusetts, is the Association’s new Secretary/Treasurer-Elect. Buczynski most recently served as President of the Design Professionals Division.

Elected to serve as Builder representatives to the Board of Directors were the following:

Fred Kolkmann, CTCB of Fred Kolkmann Tennis & Sport Surfaces, LLC, in Grafton, Wisconsin, who will represent the Tennis Division

Jameson Sheley, CFB-S, CTB, Byrne & Jones Sports Construction, Bridgeton, Missouri, was re-elected to represent the Fields Division.

Elected to serve as Supplier Division representatives were the following:

David Painter, Stockmeier Urethanes USA, Inc., Clarksburg, West Virginia was elected to represent the interests of suppliers to the Track Division

David Burke, NGI Sports, Chattanooga, Tennessee was re-elected to represent the interests of suppliers to the Tennis and Courts & Recreation Divisions

Tim Gerrits, ASLA, of GMB Architecture + Engineering, Holland, Michigan, was appointed as a Design Professional representative on the Board of Directors.

Continuing on the Board of Directors are the following: Fields Division President Kirk Grego of Mid-America Golf & Landscape, Inc. in Lee’s Summit, Missouri; Secretary/Treasurer William Chaffe, Paragon Sports Constructors, LLC, Fort Worth, Texas; Tennis Division President, Matt Strom, CTCB, of Leslie Coatings, Inc. in Indianapolis, Indiana; and Supplier Division President David Moxley, of Sportsfield Specialties, Inc., in Delhi, New York.

The following members will continue on the Board of Directors representing the Builder divisions of the membership: Joe Covington of Covington Flooring Co. in Birmingham, Alabama; Todd Dettor of Fast-Dry Courts, Inc. & 10-S Tennis Supply in Pompano Beach, Florida; Jordan Fisher of Fisher Tracks in Boone, Iowa; and Dale Hendrickson of TD Sports, Inc. – Sport Court of Southern California, in Simi Valley, California.

Chris Sullivan, RLA of Verde Design, Inc., Folsom, California also continues on the Board, representing the Professional Division.

Mark Heinlein, CFB, of The Motz Group, LLC in Cincinnati, Ohio, continues in his position as Chairman of the Board.
