Arborjet Supports The Food Bank of Western Mass

Arborjet, a leader in plant health for the past 20 years, is pleased to announce a significant grant in support of The Food Bank of Western, MA., which has been on the front lines of emergency food assistance during the COVID pandemic.

“We are proud to support The Food Bank’s initiatives, which directly align with our mission at Arborjet: to offer innovative plant health, support the agricultural and horticultural community, commit to corporate sustainability - by protecting trees, helping to reduce overall water usage; and to truly provide products, with people and planet in mind,” says Arborjet Director of Commercial Sales, Mark Andrews.

Arborjet’s mission started with the desire to protect and preserve the planet and its trees, using an innovative method that would have the least environmental impact. This has allowed them to save millions of trees while expanding their line of products to include organic and sustainable solutions from the home gardener to the commercial grower - to control pests, conserve water, and enhance plant growth.

“We greatly appreciate Arborjet’s involvement and support, which will enable us to continue to feed our neighbors in need of food assistance. The COVID-19 crisis has added additional stress for many families who now more than ever may be facing food insecurity. We serve as an important resource to help strengthen our region’s emergency food network, and to develop long-term solutions to the underlying causes of hunger in the greater community,” says Andrew Morehouse, Executive Director The Food Bank of Western Massachusetts, Inc.

Established in 1982, The Food Bank of Western Massachusetts provides healthy food ultimately to more than 90,000 individuals monthly in Berkshire, Franklin, Hampden, and Hampshire counties—through independent pantries, meal sites, and shelters, as well as its own direct-to-patron distribution. The Food Bank provides sustenance to individuals, families, seniors, children, and people with disabilities (including veterans) to lead healthy and meaningful lives. They are a member of Feeding America, a national network of more than 200 food banks.
