Along the waterfront in Singapore, design firm ARUP Singapore used fans from U.S. manufacturer Big Ass Fans to construct a series of three “breeze shelters.” The shelters offer cooling shade and a comforting rush of air for passersby. Built of glass and stainless steel, the breeze shelters are powered by solar panels and include motion sensors that activate the fans. Their unique look also makes them works of art.
