'Pin Your Pool' To Win $1,000

Elizabeth, NJ--Hayward Pool Products is harnessing the power of social media by launching its new Pinterest account and challenging consumers to pin their backyard pool photos for a chance to win any of 50 prizes in its “Pin Your Pool” contest. The online photo pinning contest, which runs through October 3, 2013, invites pinners to share their “funny, silly, romantic, or inspirational” pool photos.

Submissions of all pools--including commercial pools, and those from parks and recreation departments and camp facilities--are welcome.

Entrants can enter via Facebook (at http://on.fb.me/13prIc3 ) or by visiting Hayward’s website (at contest.hayward.com/pinyourpool). Pinterest followers must create a board titled #haywardpinyourpool, then copy and paste their board URL in the comments section of Hayward's “Pin Your Pool Contest" pin (at http://www.pinterest.com/pin/388505905325933595/ ).

“Pin Your Pool” prizes include a $1,000 first place prize; a second place prize of a 32 GB Apple iPad with WiFi; eight third place prizes of $100 Visa gift cards; and 40 fourth place prizes of $25 Visa gift cards.

Hayward Marketing Communication Director Bruce Porter said, “Even though summer is ending in many regions, for us at Hayward, it's still always all about the backyard pool experience. We want to capture the essence of it from the people who have enjoyed it firsthand, so we opted to tap into the Pinterest platform that would give us immediate visual access to online fun.  We encourage our trade partners to enter the contest and promote this with their customers.  It’s free, easy and a wonderful way to share their favorite poolside memories for a chance to win great prizes.”

According to the contest rules, entrants can submit an unlimited number of pictures – as long as they feature a pool; aboveground, in-ground or even a wading pool. A panel of judges will select the winners based on the fun and inspirational appeal of the image, as well as the number of Likes, Shares, and Repins.
