Tampa, FL, September 23, 2013 -- Jena Brooks, former FDEP Director of the Office of Greenways & Trails (OGT), has joined the Genesis planning, engineering and design firm as Associate Vice President in Ocala, FL. Brooks will lead Genesis initiatives and projects involving planning, design and implementation of greenways and trails projects in Florida and the Southeastern U.S. from the firm’s new Ocala office at 233 SW 3 rd Street, Suite 1, Ocala, FL 34470.
Brooks has 20 years’ experience in state government with in-depth experience working with trails-related issues, with the Governor and Cabinet, and through the legislative process. As the former FDEP OGT Director for 10 years, Brooks worked closely with local governments, Metropolitan Planning Organizations, FDOT, Water Management Districts, national advocacy organizations, Florida non-governmental organizations and volunteer groups to develop a statewide, unified vision and plan for trails systems in Florida.
