Outdoor Kitchen Portfolio: Danver

The owners of this Woodbridge, Conn., residential outdoor kitchen enjoy cooking, entertaining, and spending time outdoors. To accommodate these requirements, a tiered outdoor living area was created.

The kitchen features a Solaire grill with infrared burners, a Saffire ceramic smoker/grill, and an Alfresco versa burner for crab, lobster, and seafood boils, and preparing a multitude of “stock pot” meals in which high heat is required.

The power burner, which transforms into a griddle using a thick stainless plate, can also be used for simmering and sautéing. For entertaining, the outdoor kitchen features a Solaire bartending center and a Summit two-drawer refrigerator.

The lower patio, accessible by the 8 foot wide stone stairway, features a large stone fireplace and wood-fired pizza oven. This dining and entertaining area is even more inviting due to an automated perimeter insect control system and available heating.

As their region is susceptible to seasonal hurricanes, these Naples, Fla. homeowners wanted a durable outdoor kitchen featuring the warmth and visual feel of wood.

The designer selected an extremely realistic wood grain, powder coat finish on stainless steel cabinetry. Danver is the only manufacturer that can provide a wide range of stainless cabinetry, a variety of door styles, and powder coat finishes.

The kitchen has the appeal of wood, minus the maintenance. And because the cabinets come with a lifetime warranty, the homeowners can enjoy their outdoor kitchen worry-free no matter the weather.

A homeowner living in the New Orleans warehouse district transformed this cotton mill, dating back to 1882, into a unique contemporary dwelling. The question—how to enjoy outdoor living within an urban setting—was answered—up on the roof!

The popularity of rooftop living areas has increased dramatically throughout the nation, including areas like Chicago, New York, Philadelphia, and now, New Orleans.

The expansive “L-shaped” kitchen features stainless steel cabinetry for storage and organization and plenty of room for prep. There are also a number of cooking appliances to expand menu offerings. The cooking line includes a Solaire Infrared burner grill, an Alfresco power burner, and a Saffire charcoal-fired slow cooking smoker and grill. In the center of this kitchen is a refreshment island with a Solaire bartending center.

To soften the outdoor living area from the surrounding steel, brick, and stone buildings, and to provide a more inviting atmosphere, the homeowner selected a malachite powder coat and a very light beige granite countertop. The powder coat finish is impervious to salt air (chlorine) and harsh weather conditions. Plus, the homeowner is left with little to no maintenance.
