Fashionable Plants Take The Runway
See the 50 hottest new plants rock the runway at the 2012 National Green Centre this January.
The 2012 Sweet Melissa Fashion Show will be part of the National Green Centre trade show Jan. 8-9 in Kansas.
The show is presented by the Western Nursery & Landscape Association.
This is your chance to see the plants, talk to the breeders and growers, and make sure you order these new plants for spring so you’re ready when the consumer asks for them.

The National Green Centre is integrating the green industry through relationships with industry magazines Garden Center Magazine and American Nurseryman and consumer magazine Horticulture, as well as Better Homes and Gardens’ website ( www.bhg.com ).
Breeders and growers partner to put their new ornamental, native or edible plants on the 2012 Sweet Melissa Fashion Show runway.
Featuring the 50 hottest new plants in horticulture, the Sweet Melissa Fashion Show is a new-plant event like no other.
Both leading up to and after the 2012 Sweet Melissa Fashion Show, the horticulture industry will see these new plants in American Nurseryman and Garden Center Magazine, as well as through the National Green Centre’s weekly newsletter, national advertising campaign and social media.
The Garden Communicator
The National Green Centre is hosting an informal regional Garden Writers Association meeting at the 2012 event. Following the Sweet Melissa Fashion Show, the garden writers will have the opportunity to interact with breeders, growers, garden center owners and others and gain a better understanding of the new plants to promote in their articles and blogs.
The Home Gardener
The National Green Centre is working with Better Homes and Gardens and Horticulture magazine to showcase the Sweet Melissa Fashion Show plants directly to the consumer.
In addition, the National Green Centre’s weekly newsletter will feature tips on what your customer is reading about. What is Horticulture magazine and Better Homes and Gardens’ website telling consumers are the cool gardening trends? Now you’ll know what your customers may be asking for.
