Tony Hawk To Speak At NRPA Congress

Twelve-time skateboarding world champion and philanthropist Tony Hawk will be the keynote speaker at the National Recreation and Park Association’s 2011 Congress and Exposition General Session in Atlanta next week.

He will speak at 11 a.m. Nov. 1, then participate in a meet and greet with attendees.

Highlights of the Nov. 1-3 Congress at the Georgia World Congress Center include:

• Opening General Session with Tony Hawk--Tuesday, Nov. 1, 11 to 12:30 p.m. at the Thomas B. Murphy Ballroom.

* Meet and Greet with Tony Hawk--Tuesday, Nov. 1, immediately following the Opening General Session at the VIP lounge in the Exhibit Hall. Registered attendees have a chance to enter a contest to be one of 50 randomly selected to attend the meet and greet. • Park and Recreation Expo--one of the largest in the field, with more than 400 exhibitors. Hours are Nov. 1, 12:30 to 5:30 p.m.; Nov. 2, 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.; and Nov. 3, 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. In Exhibit Hall B.
