2,000 Playgrounds Strong

KaBOOM!, with the help of Playworld Systems, recently installed its 2,000th playground in the non-profit group's quest to bring play to America's children.

First Lady Michelle Obama joined KaBOOM! for the celebratory build June 15 at Imagine Southeast Public Charter School in Washington, D.C.

"In a time when recess -- once considered vital to children’s health and well-being -- is being squeezed out of the school day, building 2,000 playgrounds is nothing short of monumental,” said Dale Miller, chairman of Playworld Systems.

“We commend KaBOOM! for its tireless efforts over the past 15 years and look forward to continuing our important work together.”

For 12 years, KaBOOM! and Playworld Systems have worked in unison to bring the benefits of play to various communities throughout the country.

Each individual playground is built to foster a safe learning and playful environment.

The students at Imagine Southeast Public Charter School will now be able to enjoy Playworld Systems’ popular Challengers® line, thanks to the support of KaBOOM! and the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation.
