Nike Gives Everlast A Foot Up In Fitness Flooring

Lancaster, Penn.--Everlast Sports Surfacing will partner with Nike, Inc. for 2009 to begin incorporating Nike Grind rubber in its fitness flooring products, which will be called Everlast with Nike Grind. The product combines raw materials made from recycled athletic shoes including out-sole rubber, mid-sole foam and various other shoe components with recycled tire rubber. Updating Emergency Plans A Good Idea

I read your article “Sound the Alarm--Implementing an emergency operation plan” in (Nov 2008) PRB. I would like to receive a copy of your emergency operation plan. We have been trying to update an old and out-of-date plan that we have now into something more substantial. Would it be possible to receive a copy of the one you wrote about?Thank you for your assistance.

Recreation Road Show Strikes A Chord

Hello Randy,

I just finished reading your article Start A “Recreation Road Show” (Dec 2008). I can’t tell you how many times people in the public say to me, “your job must be easy--all you do is play all day.” Would you please e-mail me a PDF of your presentation? I would love to see it. What a great idea!

Thanks,

Randy,

I just read your article and I am interested in your presentation--will you please e-mail me your PDF file? We have an upcoming Citizen’s Academy in February and would like to have something in the way of a PowerPoint presentation to showcase what and who we are!

Thanks,

Hi Randy,

I just read your article on the Recreation Road Show and was very impressed. Nice article and good information. After taking a serious hit for the 2009 budget that was just adopted in our city, I now know that I need to do some serious educating here. Is there any possibility that I could get a pdf file of this info since it may help me and give me ideas of what I need to do?

Hello Mr. Gaddo,

I read your article in PRB and am interested in seeing what exactly you’ve included in the PowerPoint presentation that you show to influential people in your community. It sounds like a great idea and if you could send a copy to me, I would appreciate it very much.

Thank you so much.

Mr. Gaddo, I enjoyed reading your article in PRB. Oftentimes when we do presentations, people comment on how they did not realize we did “all of that.” Would you mind sending me your presentation? Thank you in advance. Brenda ZeckExecutive DirectorWarren Special Recreation AssociationGurnee, Ill.

I loved your article and would so appreciate a copy of your PDF. I just saw a video clip of “Who needs the library?” and I was off and running with the idea of creating our own “brag book” to take to clubs, city council, etc.--and then I read your article. Perfect timing! And thank you in advance for helping us make this happen here in the city of Paso Robles.

New Trends Equal New Opportunities

Ms. Patterson,

We are constantly looking to increase our clientele here at our facility. I recently read your article about trends and would like more info concerning this phenomenon (Trends In Fitness Classes, Oct 2008). Please steer me in the right direction concerning this.

Thanks!

Mr. Marko,

I think the trends mentioned in the article are a good place to start. The dance-based classes, for instance, were mentioned by all of the sources interviewed for the story as ones that are particularly popular. These are also relatively easy to start; you can use a dance instructor, as I profiled in the piece, or you can hire someone trained in a type of dance exercise class, like Zumba. I think the key theme in the piece was allowing people to try something new and build relationships. So anything that fits your population that would accomplish these goals.

Best of luck!

Jennifer Patterson Lorenzetti
