AMENITIES : Located in downtown Los Angeles, the new Grand Park offers a green respite for workers and users of the adjacent government buildings, as well as for tourists and residents. Dubbed “The Park for Everyone,” the 12-acre plan features a global pageant of plants that pays tribute to LA’s diverse population.

Intermingled with native plantings, species from various regions are organized into 24 floristic gardens.  Garden signs resemble oversized garden stakes and indicate the region, describe the climate, and talk about the characteristics of featured plants.

Magenta site furnishings invite lingering, and act as year-round pink “blooms” that complement the seasonal colors of the gardens.

An historic fountain was restored and enlarged with an interactive splash pad.

Buildings include a coffee café, covered seating areas, staff offices, and restrooms.

A variety of performances and programs, organized by The Music Center, occur throughout the park.
