Painting The Lawn Green?

In this year of drought and overall season of sustainability, many homeowners are looking at ways to spruce up their yards beyond the traditional lush green lawn.

The grass is always greener...

Many are giving xeriscaping a try--converting their lawns to native plantings that require little watering or chemical care. Others are turning to landscape architects to create interesting outdoor living spaces.

But some are, literally, slapping on a coat of paint. Yes, spray-painting their lawns with green dye to mimic a healthy, springtime lawn.

It's certainly cheaper than ripping out grass and starting over, but is it the wave of the future?
