As Memorial Day weekend approaches and the summer boating season begins, keep safety in mind.

May 21-27 is Safe Boating Week.

Safe Kids USA reminds parents and recreation professionals to keep water safety at the top of their summer fun list.

Make sure all boat passengers wear life jackets.

Consider taking or offering a boating education course.

And have your boats inspected by the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary or U.S. Power Squadron.
