Toro Field Maintenance Forums

Get the most out of your sports field maintenance efforts with the help of the fifth annual Athletic Field Maintenance Forums hosted by The Toro Company, Diamond Pro and Beacon Athletics.

The series of educational seminars teaches best practices in sports field management, combining hands-on and classroom instruction.

The goal is to teach techniques and strategies that will improve both the safety and playability of athletic fields, according to Dale Getz, CSE sports turf sales manager for Toro and one of the featured speakers at the forums.

"The importance of fostering and improving professionalism within the sports turf industry and the need to promote safe sports turf areas is the focus of these forums," Getz said.

Topics include an in-depth look at infield soils; sport turf essentials such as aerification, topdressing, mowing and irrigation; managing ballfield skin areas including mounds, home plate and infield areas; bullpen Q&A session; and on-field demonstrations.

Participants attending one of the forums will earn 0.6 continuing education credits toward their Certified Sports Field Managers designation.

The forums are scheduled in six locations across the country, including:
